Verzamelde Geluiden

2014 | Performance ± 20min. | At: Intro in Situ, Maastricht

What does a wooden beam, piece of metal, or foam sound like? For the performance Verzamelde Geluiden (Eng: Collected Sounds), I gathered all kinds of leftover materials lying around the Fine Arts department studio building in Maastricht. These materials were dragged across the floor one by one, transforming them into sound-objects while the space itself became a resonance chamber. The repetitive and deliberate act of moving each object across the floor became a kind of meditative soundscape, where attention was focused entirely on the subtle textures, tones, and vibrations produced.
