2024 | Edited cut-outs from 80’s and 90’s advertisements | small book 10x10CM

In the summer of 2024, I was gifted a big pile of National Geographic magazines from the 1980s and 1990s. While browsing through these decades-old publications, I was struck by the era's technological and communication advertisements, which I somehow did not expect to find in these magazines.

I have cut-out and scanned the ads after which each image has been edited to remove text, logos, and brand names, allowing the visuals to speak for themselves. In some instances, backgrounds have been adjusted to enhance the overall composition. These ads, once symbols of cutting-edge innovation and technological optimism, now serve as a fascinating glimpse into the past. Also, some of them are very weird, surreal and funny.
